R & Communications Manager
Location: New York, USA – Full-time
We are looking for an experienced PR & Communications Manager to join Balenciaga’s New York team, reporting directly to the Vice President of Communications. This role offers the opportunity to lead communications across North, Central and South America, shaping how the brand connects with audiences in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and the Caribbean. You will play a key role in creating and maintaining a strong public image for Balenciaga while ensuring that all brand communications and marketing activations are fully aligned across the region.
As PR & Communications Manager, you will develop and implement seasonal strategies designed to strengthen Balenciaga’s presence across the Americas. This will include managing strategic product and brand placements in premium print and digital publications, devising unique launch strategies that support retail initiatives, and leading all public relations activities for the brand. You will also be responsible for ensuring Balenciaga maintains a consistent, brand-appropriate presence in leading media titles, as well as pitching and securing impactful features that elevate our profile. A key part of the role will be to oversee event programming, from location scouting and guest list development to PR activities, logistics and post-event reporting.
Alongside public relations, you will manage communications more broadly across the AMER region. This includes overseeing internal communications strategy and execution, supporting global brand partnerships, and managing retail marketing initiatives—both paid and organic. You will ensure the delivery of seasonal assets, lead marketing proposals and lease-related activations, and play a role in shaping paid media activity. VIP relations will also fall within your remit, requiring you to provide recommendations, support overarching strategies and oversee the full spectrum of logistics involved.
Your responsibilities will also extend to leading and supporting a team of assistants, specialists, coordinators and interns, as well as managing vendor and partner invoicing. Collaboration with our headquarters in Paris will be essential, particularly in supporting PR, marketing, image, VIP and digital teams with international activations taking place in the US and beyond.
We are seeking a candidate with strong experience in designing and delivering communications strategies, ideally within the luxury sector. You should have the ability to shape and drive brand messages while navigating the nuances of the broader cultural landscape in the Americas. A combination of strategic vision and action-oriented mindset is essential, as are analytical and organisational skills that allow you to plan, execute and monitor initiatives effectively. Existing relationships with fashion and cultural industry leaders will be a clear advantage, as will proven leadership and the ability to inspire and guide a team. To succeed in this role, you should be flexible, open-minded and comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment that requires occasional domestic and overseas travel.
For individuals hired to work in New York, the estimated salary range for this role is $100,000 to $120,000 USD, depending on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Balenciaga at a pivotal time and to contribute directly to the evolution of our communications strategy in the Americas. At Balenciaga, we are committed to supporting your professional development, whether within the House or across the wider Kering Group. We strive to create a workplace where every employee can thrive, with opportunities to learn, grow and achieve their full potential.
Balenciaga is also deeply committed to diversity and inclusion. We believe that a workforce enriched by different backgrounds, perspectives and experiences enhances both our company and the client experience.
